There is obviously not much I can say wrong about this program. It is quick, easy and quite simply fantastic. I do have one question. It seem that Google now likes to see some text when linking to sites. Could the fact that we are just listing a link be a problem?

Hey Rakesh, I’m not sure what you are referring to about the generated numbers etc. If you’re referring to a capche code, then, you’ll need to enter that by hand.
As for blog engines, no, but that’s a great suggestion. This is what I mean by a community of users all helping one another. The suggestions that come in will help us make the software better and better for everyone!

This looks like a superb piece of software..once again.
It will be interesting to track the backlinks using Seo Elite and determining the effectiveness of the submitter.
My only 2 concerns would be obviously “no follows” and just the fact that this feels like “gaming the search engines”. It could be argued that if the software didnt exist we would look for backlinks anyway and this software just speeds up the process.
Maybe I am ahead of myself….. its just when I see something that looks as effective as I hope this will be, I figure somewhere along the line the search engines will update & reduce the effectiveness of it or even penalise us for using it.
However I cannot see anyway a footprint can be left… so I am probably concerned needlessly.
Directory submitter will be an absolute must have tool if it proves to stay within white hat.

Hi Brad, just looked at the video and yes it looks useful. Two points:-
1.Can you make it so that it stores a record of who you have`submitted to. Otherwise I’m bound to forget, especially with over 1800 choices.
2.What about the option of adding some text to the link.
I have not downloaded it yet so maybe you have already thought about these ideas. Cheers.

Hey Chris, to answer your questions:
1. There’s a column titled “last submitted” that will show you when you’ve submitted to the directory. That column should change depending on the “project” you’ve selected from the drop down list. Come to think of it, it might not change now… but we’ll make it work like that
2. You can do this already, no problem.

But I have just one concern: I’ve been told that building TOO MANY back links TOO quickly can get a site penalized, as the Search Engines view it as an unnatural occurance. Is this true? And if so, about how many links can be submitted (per month, week, etc.) without risking penalization?

Hi Jim E.. You are right on what you say about building too many backlinks at once will get you penalised.. cos it seems very “unatural”.. Do bear in mind though that just cos you submit to a directory.. it might take them 8-12 weeks before they list you.. (if they list you at all..!!) I would probably submit 25-35 a day.. thats some 200 a week.. over the next 9 weeks should have you reaching the limit of the directories to submit to… then it’s a case of seeing how many have accepted your submission… then after about 10-12 weeks.. start re-submitting with your latest title/description to the ones who havent got you listed..

You need to start somewhere so that people know to visit your site to begin with. I completely agree with you in that you should be creating quality content, but that’s only a piece of the puzzle.

For a dreadful moment I thought it was an FFA submitter, but these seem to be actual directories.
The list of directories alone is worth it’s weight in silver.
Great that it also prefills in some of the fields.
In an ideal world it would work out the similar categories as well and auto post, but I guess it’s better to be selective for your specific industry anyway and not just spam every directory with the same thing.

I’ve heard a reasonable amount of discussion in the SEO community lately that Google may be penalizing for being in too many directories, as compared with natural links. Anytime things get too systemized like this, I think they have to adjust, because it’s easily “gamed”. Any thoughts along this route?
Also, how does this compare with IBP/Arelis and some of the other stuff out there. What’s his face…ummm…Jeff Alderson…just released one in the last couple weeks, I think. It would be interesting to see a side by side features comparison with competitors.
We’re all obviously looking for quality stuff that scratches an itch. This one might be one of those.

Looks fabulous Brad, I too have Keyword Elite which is brilliant, so I look forward to this.
Would be good to have guidelines about the “best practice quantity of submissions” made over a short period of time so that folks using the software don’t abuse it and get us all in trouble. I mean it is still ultimately a manual process, but a great centralized resource and timesaver. Having “been in the sandbox” before because I submitted too many articles at one time (yeah I know, it was in the early days … I didn’t know what I was doing!).
Perhaps a feature in the software that launches a pop-up “You have already submitted to 20 sites in the last 24 hours. Are you SURE you want to continue? It is recommended to build links steadily over time.”, where the “number of submissions” is defaulted already (but could be changed by users).
Also, how easy would it be to have a number of different descriptions/anchor text to choose from when submitting to each site, say from a drop down menu? Makes it look less like I’m using software and more “organic” (stupid description, ‘organic’. I mean it’s all done with computers whatever way we look at it
).

Great tool, but can you list different titles and descriptions so that the submissions can vary a little bit? It would certainly be more effective if the descriptions and titles weren’t all the same, wouldn’t you agree?

I would like to see a feature that tells you if your website is already listed in a particular directory. This would make it easier for people that already have a thousand or more inbound links and you’re not sure what you have linking to you. I believe you could be unlisted if you submit more than once or under more than one category depending on the directory. So you would want to know if the inbound link exists. I know I already have the tools to determine the inbound links but I’m trying to avoid manually locating them in the resulting list of links. The feature I’m suggesting would use the directories search capability to find your website.
I’m a novice so I hope this makes sense.
Hey Alan, you can already list as many titles, descriptions, and URLs as you want. The “fill” button will allow you to rotate between titles, descriptions, and URLs… so each directory won’t have the same information. Plus, you can create an unlimited number of “projects” so you can add completely different websites to the software

If you have SEO elite you could find all your back links and export them to an excel sheet.
If directory submitter has the same export function you could save the directory list to another excel spread sheet and then do a vlookup between the two to see which URL appeared on both sheets.
This would tell you which listings you already have.
Looks v. useful, Brad. I’ll let you know how I go when I’ve had an opportunity to use it.

I have SEO elite and it’s absolutely great!
This new Directory software also looks great and I am looking forward to trying this software.
CONCERNS:
1) Yes, as you have mentioned, Google does like one way links BUT it doesn’t like links targeting from FFA or FFA sites who are posing as directories pages. Specifically, Google doesn’t like sites that have more than 30 outbound links per page.
Some now are saying that Google will start penalizing and that open directories can actually hurt your overall ranking?
Could you please explain this?
What is the truth of the mater?
Why do so many SEO professionals have different opinions?
2) Has someone really checked the validity of all these directories?
I would rather submit to half of these directories if I knew they were good quality sites which someone has verified so that I won’t be penalized.
SUGGESTIONS:
1) Could you make this project 9 for SEO Elite:-)
2) Adding some keyword text to the link (This would be Great!)
3) Would like to see more Real Estate related directories
4) Ability to get FREE regular updates & enter in MANUALLY new directories
5) Warning Message if more that 20 directories are submitted per day (On/Off)
6*) Open Directory - Outbound Linkage Analysis
The ability to check open directory’s outbound page linkage to ensure that they conforms to standards. (i.e. Shows average linkages per page-per directory / Shows Open Directory sites that have - on average - less than 30 links per page)
7*) Open Directory - Key Word Search/Analysis
The ability to classify/group the directory sites (i.e. If I want to submit a real estate site, the software could SHOW ME and GROUP the directories which best relates to my key words which I have entered in a search box)
These are just a few ideas…

SEO Elite seems like a really good program, but I cant help but think of the 4 letter word ‘work’. Now I can get heaps of one way links in a very short period of time! Thanks!
A high ranking score in search enginges is required to increase traffic. This new program helps a lot to get a better ranking. I will try it and I am damed sure it will increase the ranking with at least 2 scores.

Hi Brad, been using Directory Submitter tonight and I must say I am impressed. Maybe I’ll even buy the full version! A couple of improvements would be nice:-
1.The ability to modify the Last Submitted date. If you try to submit to a directory that only takes 50 submissions a day and your, say 51 then you have not submitted but the software still enters the Last Submitted date as today. Please can you make it so that we can delete or modify this date.
2.It would be nice if it showed the link text and description that you submitted, as I have several different link texts and descriptions.
Anyway, well done, this is a very useful addition to my SEO amoury! Cheers.

Would you recommending submitting specific pages within a url to the directories as opposed to just the home page - i.e. your home page might be about ABC and you have a page in the site which is more specialised about OPQ - would you recommend setting up a project for both or is it best to ONLY submit your home page ?

I am having no problems finding and submitting our Real Estate sites in these directories.
Suggestions:
1) Would be nice to be able to UN-SELECT the “Last Submitted” date if a site submission is in-complete.
2) Would be nice to add some NOTES for some sites on the main screen (New last column called NOTES)

Thanks for this wonderful piece of software. I work with the Pro version. And you build in a update function too as I just noticed - really great!
Brad here are some suggestions for better performance and improvement:
1) Allow several submission streams (since directories loading times vary) - in my opinion 3 to 5 are sufficient - that will actually safe time
2) Allow to submit several websites ( projects) at once - I know many directories have no limits yet - just a few - and since one is with that directory already - why not?
3) Please go to digixmas.com - they implemented some nice features in their service about semi-automatic category selection
4) Build a directory update function with which directories that does not exist any longer are removed and new one’s added automatically
5) With the own address function - please add country - you have customers from aborad as well.
6) Why not start a own blog just for suggestions and proposals
7) I believe that a directory online submission based on member ship (one time submission for 1 month / and life-time) would be preferable in respect of updates and improvements. It would make things much easier.

Your submitter is great, works very intuitive.
A nice extra feature would be:
If you could add an extra column, where we can write the data when our website was approved and added. (we know this because most of the directories will send an email confirming that our website was aproved and added).
With this extra feature we can see which directories are adding websites fast and which ones are slow. This allows us to plan our submissions better and also we can see exactly in which directories our website is added.
Please consider this feature, it will be very usefull.

This is one of the easiest submitter I’v used but more than half timr t dors not fillin the key words even if you click on that box and hit fill nothing. So I still have a lot of typing.

Top Tip… so I was hoping to list my site on some specific travel directories without having to go through all the various categories on each directory but rather use more targetted directories for my category… which is obviously travel and then select region country etc for the category I wanted to list for.
So imagine my surprise when I googled travel directories, clicked on a few links and thought … hmm I wonder… could it quite possibly work. Dragged the link straight into DS browser and hey presto, it prefilled it. Now obviously if you are going to search for more targetted directories they may not be free, but hey every little helps.
So would it be possible to add a location bar to DS Brad?

I submitted sites today. Works really slick. However, the software would not allow me to change the description and keyword information on the fly in the directory sites. I would change the wording, but
Directory Submitter would change it back again. I had to browse to some sites directly, and then add my info by hand. Hopefully, this can be corrected in future version.

Wow! If only I’d found this tool many websites ago! This is extremely useful and I plan to upgrade TODAY!
For a Gold version it would sure rock to be able to enter our current list of directory url’s into it!
Nice tool Brad - only just started playing but two of the first six sites required a payment! It would be really nice if there was an easy way to flag these for removal. Also, one of the other submission involved registering, confirming, changing password and then submitting, etc - a bit long winded - so it would be really useful if there was something like an ‘ease of submission’ categorization scale or directories requiring an identical submission approach being grouped together for ease of sorting. Just and idea!
Good luck with it all. The usefulness will be in the quality of the list and it being kept up to date.

Hi All,
Just another quick tip….. dont go too mad with submitting, to too many directories at once. It is considered by a few that getting backlinks too quickly too often may get you flagged by the search engines.
Consider how regular you would like to submit to directories, so for instance daily ( not recommended) or weekly ( reccomended, give a day or too) or monthly ( more likely the safest option possibly)
Once you have decided the frequency to submit to directories, make sure you are consistent and stick to a general figure of say 8 - 15 directories.
Remember that some directories will not approve you straight away and may take a day or two to list you and some may even take weeks. If you keep your consistency light and your frequency regular you should be able to see consistent submissions of one or two directories every other day and this will not look too odd.
Consider your backlink submissions in the long term…. hitting for 200 directories this week and no more for another month or too may hurt you.
Dont forget one way backlinks are great, but you need to mix it up with recipricols, one way outbounds, and plenty of insite links.

I like your software Brad. To date it seems to be working great. I decided to use 2 different services for my site. I used the Directory Submitter software and a paid Web Directory Submission Service. The jury’s still out as to my preferred method because the Service said it would be at least another 2 weeks before I know my results.
To date, I’m finding advantages as well as disadvantages to both methods.
Submission Services are faster but you have no control as to the quality of the directories your site is submitted. I’m leaning towards the software just because of this. I think I prefer slower but higer quality submissions through Directory Submitter rather than faster lower quality ones with Services. The work may be a little more but it will pay off in the long term.

You will notice that not all the times the boxes auto fill and when that happens this would be a great feature.
I would also like to add coments on each site I submit to. Maybe I like the site and want to add a comment about it for my own personal reference or I may dislike a site and never want to submit to it again.
I drop down box would be nice to have for sites. as of now it gives the last time it was submitted but I would like a few options like submitted | verified | skipped

I simply had no clue that all of these directories existed, nonetheless that one could submit to them. I just spent two full days submitting to the 350 (didn’t get the 150 upgrade to 500 directories I downloaded) complimentary list of initial directories. That was a LOT of work. Can’t imagine how tedious it would have been without your automated software. I am impressed, and will be more so when it starts having an impact upon my Google rankings. Plan to upgrade to Gold 1,800 directories tomorrow, and purchase one of your other tools.
No need to reinvent the wheel, and glad there is a trustable source to guide me ,,,, albeit for a well worth it fee!

Few suggestions or request.
1.
For the Category, Is there anyway that the software Directory Sumitter will sort of “remember” or give us “hint” of the category that we usually use for a certain project or website. It is kind of confusing and eye-straining to look for does categories again and again.
2.
One thing more, is there a way you can add a feature (like color red, green indicator) where we can monitor if we are currently link or not link to that directory, like the same feature you got in LINKMETRO.

Last week I was using it to get some links to one of my PR0 websites and now I have got those links to my website. You know what, I got a PR3 and PR4 website linking back to my sites. At the same time my website is now can be found on the 1st page of google search result for one of my main keywords with over 1.3 millions other competing websites.
I think for a PR0 website can make it this far is quite amazing….! Again, thank you for your kindness so far.

One thing though I goofed and deleted a Directory instead of Clear submit Info. Think there’s a way to have deleted Directories cached some where or a confirmation you want to delete?

First the comment, then a question. COMMENT: Directory Submitter is right up there with the rest of the Brad Callen programs…Excellent. Now the QUESTION: Am I the only one having problems with the Website Directories? They don’t scroll smoothly, they’ll run fine for a little bit, then stop, and you have to sit and wait until they are ready to go again… especially when trying to find a category. When they finally let you get to the place to click on what you want, it is time to sit and wait more. This is taking a great deal of time and I’m nearly 75 years old. I want to be sure there is enough time to get all my sites submitted!!! Joking, of course, but is this a problem unique to me, or has some one found a way to get around this problem? Thanx tons for any help.
This software is top stuff I only wish I had the funds to buy the full version!!!!
Hey! This is a great tool and a great list of directories.
I have a question about using this on multiple computers. I do about 1/3 of my work on my laptop. Is there some way I can synchronize two versions of my project so Directory Submitter 1 “knows” what Directory Submitter 2 has submitted? I have a network sync program that I use, but I am not sure which file(s) to synch to accomplish this, or if it will even work.
Hope you can help me be even more efficient!

It is the most wonderful tool that I have received. Before this, I used to spend sleepless nights searching Internet and normally it use to take me an hour to find one search engine and then go through the whole process of filling in the form.

Ive just downloaded your submit to directorys software. I am placing ads on all 350 available directories. Sir if I should get an increase in hits as a result you can be rest assured I will want more regardless of how much it costs. In my opinion there is nothing more Important then My page rank and sales as a result. I will keep my fingers crossed.! Most would agree, Most website owners would pay any costs for advertising, providing that the advertising can justify costs.
Please consider also adding the reciprocal link in the database to import automatically in the forms.
During each submission round it usually stays the same. And it is easier to delete it if not needed than writing it each time again and again.

I have a numer of sites and keep information about them on a spreadsheet. It would be useful to be able to export my project data in a csv format so that i could integrate it with my other site data

It would be helpful if nofollows were highlited in the browser window and if you could display the robots.txt file in a window under the browser window.
I am so thankful for this submitter. It makes submitting to directories so much easier! It would have been so much work to have had to find all these directories myself & type in the information myself each time.
The only suggestion I would make is that you add a checkbox next to each directory in the list so that when we hear from the directories that our site has been approved…we can check it off and be able to keep up with which sites have approved us and which ones we need to re-submit to. (Maybe there was a mistake that could have been fixed with re-submission.)

I find a few points that would be handy:
Some sites don’t put up their html code for linking back. How about if this program would pre-fetch the url and description of these sites automatically, so that it is easy to paste it in my html editor?
You are upselling this product as well. Why isn’t there a tab for going back to this offer? I think you lose valuable sales here.

I recently downloaded HyperVre, Directory submitter and article submitter. I am a bit confused about HyperVre. When I read the manual it seems to say it is a web site builder.
Then when I read in other places it seems to have something to do with capturing articles from the web. I do not own Front page 2003 or Dreamweaver so I am not an experienced web builder. I have built a site using onewebhosting.com but that is not the same thing. It seems that the manual to HyperVre assumes that everyone should know how to build a site.
What exactly is HyperVre. What does it do? Is it a webb site builder? I’m Confused.

Don’t know how I get to meet Brad Callen, but I remember admiring his product “Keyword Elite”, and sad that I can’t afford it yet, so I thought of just help selling it as the product’s affiliate. Unfotunetly I can’t become your affiliate coz I have no ClickBank ID and I can not have the ID because I live in the country which is not in the clickbank list.

We’re in this business, so I’ve been scouring the net some time now for something like this, and finally found it, and FREE - what a bonus! Awesome software dude!
BUT! I got a real problem! First of all, you have the option to “add directory” ’s but whenever we do that, when we close the software and re-open it, no matter which project we are on, it cancelled ALL the directories we added! We lost a whole day’s work to this! Also, the “category” and “type” fields don’t work or show at all, and you cannot add / create new categories or fields. Can you fix this?
The reporting idea somebody mentioned above would also come very in handy for proof to our clients!

Thanks Brad, you have done it again. With over 20 working sites and growing it was getting expensive to have the sites submitted to directories. This software is going to pay for itself in one day. The ability to add my list of directories is a great function.

i found a bug:
I double clicked a directory to open it, then i moved the focus to another directory in the list, and when i submitted the content, it was saved to the new focused directory, not the correct initial one…
This is a biggie…
